Innovative Programs
Scholar Program
Our Scholar Program combines the strengths of the Cambridge and GEARS programs to offer a dynamic and enriching academic experience. Through the internationally recognized Cambridge curriculum, students engage in rigorous coursework that promotes critical thinking, global awareness, and academic excellence. The GEARS component—Gifted Education and Academic Resource Services—provides targeted support and enrichment for gifted learners, fostering creativity, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Together, these programs challenge students to reach their full potential and prepare them for advanced academic opportunities and lifelong success.
Environmental Innovative Program
The environmental innovative program at Sawgrass Springs Middle serves to create a generation of environmental stewards. Weaving environmental science through the curriculum allows students to re-engage with school in a hands-on, project-based learning format. We strive to help students to see that they are the changemakers for environmental action. Students engage in elective courses through all grade levels, culminating in a high school credit elective in 8th grade. All grade levels also interweave a common essential question to incorporate environmental studies through all content areas.
